Wild Azalea Festival - Saturday, March 20, 2010
Join the Town of White Springs and the State of Florida’s Nature & Heritage Center as they celebrate the spring bloom of wild azaleas along the Suwannee River. The festival features musical performances, arts and crafts, trail hikes and other outdoor recreational opportunities. Native plants, including wild azaleas will also be for sale. For three full days and nights the Suwannee River sings with Florida's finest music, dance and stories presenting the "roots" of Florida's many cultures. Over 600 of Florida's greatest folk and roots artists from little towns and large cities throughout the Sunshine State gather in the hamlet of White Springs to celebrate Florida's land and it's people.
As one of the oldest folk festivals in America, the event now brings 30,000 concert goers to the festival each year to hear more than 200 music shows a day on multiple stages. Seating capacities and performance areas are ample throughout the festival, including the Amphitheatre, Old Marble Stage, Traditional Folklife Areas and authentic Seminole Indian Family Camp, the Festival Marketplace, and the crafts areas and Folk Arts Village. Free shuttle buses to every stage.
